Brunnera macrophylla 'Jack Frost PP13859'
Heartleaf Alkanet
Frosty silver leaves with strong dark green veins and clearly defined margins. Blooms with tiny cluster of blue flowers. This will brighten up the shade all season long.
Homeowner Growing & Maintenance Tips:
Brunnera will grow the fastest and strongest in rich soil. Brunnera should be grown in full shade and consistently moist soil in south, and in the north, morning sun is acceptable as long as the soil remains moist. Little care is needed once Brunnera is established. Cut back the old foliage in the spring rather than in the fall, it will help to protect the crown during the winter. Mulching in winter is recommended.
Interesting Notes:
'Jack Frost' tolerates heat much better than the older brunnera cultivars.
